SAP Automation - RPA for SAP Integration | UiPath

Activities designed for automating SAP system by encapsulating script actions into UiPath activities through DLL interface provided by SAP. (Requires script to be enabled in SAP)

It is known that you can automate SAP using just standard UiPath activities, however, this package allows access to a bunch of SAP components and methods that are not accessible otherwise. Another great feature of this package is that all methods can be used through a standard Assign activity (with intellisense available) because all classes provided by SAP are accessible. You just need to import sapfewse.dll.

This facilitates actions like Open Transaction, Select a column in a grid view, Display column Title, Is column filtered, Scroll Down and count rows, and others.

You can use the built in SAP scripting to record the actions that will help you replicate the steps into the UiPath workflow. However, we recommend you to use the freeware Scripting Tracker below to record the SAP interactions with more details and information. 

We also recommend you to use the Official SAP Documentation to understand the structure and events of each SAP component available.

This file format conversion activity has the following two processing modes:

Reads BDC data (txt) that was exported from a batch input program preregistered on the SAP system, and converting the data into Excel format.

Reads the edited Excel file, and converts it into BDC data (.txt) which is readable on SAP.

The activities from this package deliver information about SAP GUI for Windows installation. It is very important to know the details about the execution environment. Using this you can check whether the expected conditions are fulfilled.

E.g. for an attended bot which needs access to a SAP system.

It is possible that the user has disabled the SAP GUI Scripting in the options dialog of the SAP Logon. In this case, the bot will not run correctly. With the output property IsScriptingInstalledAndEnabled of the activity SAP GUI Scripting Info you can easily check it.

  

**SAP GUI Installation Info**

This activity checks if SAP GUI for Windows is installed. Also it delivers the installation directory, version and patch-level of SAP GUI for Windows. It contains only output fields:

*   IsInstalled: Marked as True if SAP GUI for Windows is installed, otherwise it will be displayed as False.
*   InstallationDetails: Structure which contains the InstallationDirectory, Version and PatchLevel of the SAP GUI for Windows.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI Configuration Info**

This activity provides information about SAP GUI configuration. It contains only output fields:

*   ConfigurationDetails: Structure which contains information about StartSaplogon and DetacheMode.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI Scripting Info**

This activity provides information about SAP GUI Scripting customizing. It contains only output fields:

*   IsScriptingInstalledAndEnabled: Marked as True if the user scripting is installed and enabled, otherwise it will be displayed as False.
*   ScriptingDetails: Structure which contains information from IsScriptingInstalled, IsScriptingEnabled, WarnOnAttach, WarnOnConnection and ShowNativeWindowsDialogs.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI Theming Info**

This activity delivers information about the selected theme of the SAP GUI for Windows. It contains only output fields:

*   SelectedTheme: Number of the selected theme.
*   SelectedThemeName: Name of the selected theme.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI Visualization Info**

This activity delivers information about the user individual SAP GUI visualization settings. It contains only output fields:

*   VisualizationDetails: Structure which contains information about KeysWithinDropdownList, SortKeysWithinDropdownList, ShowOKCodeField and ShowAdditionalTitleInfo.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI Logon Options Info**

This activity delivers information about the user individual SAP GUI logon option settings. It contains only output fields:

*   LogonOptionsDetails: Structure which contains information about Language and UseSAPLogonLanguageAsDefault.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

**SAP GUI GuiXT Info**

This activity delivers information about GuiXT installation. It contains only output fields:

*   GuiXTDetails: Structure which contains information about IsGuiXTInstalled, Version and IsGuiXTEnabled.
*   ErrorReturn: In case of error a it displayed a relevant message.

Delivers information about SAP® GUI for Windows installation

**A**dvanced **B**usiness **A**pplication **P**rogramming language, or ABAP in short form, is the programming language in SAP environments. It offers powerful possibilities with its commands to handle and manipulate data on the SAP ERPbackend system. It is only available in SAP application server backend systems. You can’t use ABAP outside an SAP

system.

  

This ABAPRunner activity offers the possibility to use ABAP code from UiPath Studio. You can code your ABAP reports local and ABAPRunner transfers it to an SAP backend system and executes it. Therefor ABAPRunner uses the Remote Enabled Function Module (RFM) RFC\_ABAP\_INSTALL\_AND\_RUN, which is available on any SAP system.

  

Only one activity is available: **ABAP Install and Run**. This activity installs an ABAP report in the backend systems, executes and deletes it after execution.
